About Us
T & C Metal Co., based in Crystal Lake, IL, has been the foremost scrap metal recycling center in Northern Illinois for over 40 years, serving both businesses and residents. As a family-owned and operated company, we are dedicated to promoting a healthier environment and community through efficient recycling processes. We focus on purchasing a variety of non-ferrous metals from both residential and commercial clients. Our Story
T & C Metal Company was originally founded by Tom and Cynthia Lindley in the 1970’s. The company was based out of an old barn open only on Saturdays. It was located at 24 Woodstock St in Crystal Lake, IL. Today, this is where the Crystal Lake Police department now exists.
In 1984 Tom and Cynthia built their own building in an industrial park near downtown Crystal Lake. They created a successful full-time business together, along with their son, Brad. They loved their customers and really enjoyed getting to know them and their families.
Following Cynthia’s passing in 2007, Kim, their daughter, joined the business. Tom continued to work full-time until his health declined in 2019 at which time, he passed away at the age of 80. Tom and Cynthia’s children continue with their legacy running the family business, now in operations over 40 years.
T & C Metal Company buys non-ferrous metals including aluminum, brass, carbide, copper, lead, magnesium, pewter, silver, stainless steel, titanium, and zinc. Giving back to the community and environment through waste reduction and recycling is an important part of the family business along with providing services that benefit schools, churches, and other organizations.
T & C Metal Company is dedicated to making sure the customers' materials are handled with care and disposed of in an environmentally friendly manner. Services are provided for both residential and commercial customers. No appointment is needed.
